Not home yet

Well. he didn’t come home. But we’re both okay with it. Yesterday he was so stir crazy. I was really upset. On the way back to Martin and Fiona’s last night  I went too quickly over a speed bump and I burst into tears! I was thinking - maybe I’ve damaged the car etc. etc.I was obviouslyreally worried about John. When I got out of the car at M and F’s I saw the beautiful night sky and felt much better. In the grand scale of things everything is okay. I really felt God is there, holding everything in being, and God is good.

Today John was in good form. The consultant said John should have complete bed rest as the wound is still 4cm deep (only .25 cm wide). There was a discharge, but it was ‘normal’. When John asked about antibiotics doctor said it wasn’t infected so not necessary. So ‘here we again’ and John and I keep saying to one another.

I’m staying home until Friday when John will ring with the next prognosis from consultant. If he can come home I will drive up on Friday and take John home on Sat. Otherwise I will drive up on Sat. and see what the doctor says on Monday. Ali, Eric and kids, Martin and Fiona were going to come for the weekend but that’s obviously off now. I might organise some freezer meals for when they do come, as Ali doesn’t eat meat, and it would be nice to have some good meals ready.

Anyway, I’m knocking back the wine now, all on my ownsome, so probably need professional medical help! But I do feel good about everything. John could have died.
