I’ve done it again. I’ve put away the Christmas decorations and left ONE out. And I checked so carefully.

I can’t believe it. I got 95% for my Creative Writing short story. So so pleased. Dancing on air.
And I had a lovely morning in a Market Weighton coffee shop with 3 fellow students. Lively non stop conversation. We’re meeting again in a month’s time.

It’s coming out of our ears! I bought a big bit in case we needed it over the New Year, but we didn’t. So John and I had it with mash on Sunday, mash again on Monday, with chips on Tuesday, and today I’m going to make a soup with it. Will probably be able to freeze some too.
Decorations went away yesterday - not by themselves you understand - I had to stow them in the attic.
I finished my TMA on Monday. Pleased with it. I actually listened to advice of fellow students and changed the ending. Might post a link for it on here if I can. Should be easy as photos can be posted.
Which brings me to photographs. Returned to Viewfinders (camera club) on Monday evening and as we were reviewing Christmas photos I printed three off for comments. Really nice evening. We’re in a new venue, which happens to be much nearer to me.
I’m thinking of not going back to the Scripture Group. Last time I went a woman who was already in the room looked up when I entered, and promptly left by the other door. When everyone else arrived and we had the meeting she was so rude to two other people that I wondered what on earth I was doing there. And why didn’t I say anything? She’s probably lonely, as she’s a widow, but she can be so smarmy at times (when she has a larger audience) . Anyway, the Scripture Group in Tolworth was geared to applying scrpture to our daily lives (we called it ‘Living Scripture) but this one is more about studying the source. I (and Betty) try to apply it to ourselves, but it seems to slide away into criticising others (materialism on the world, latecomers to church, non-church goers etc.) Oops! Think I’m being a bit harsh. Maybe I’m trying to justify not returning to the group.
Went to the library on Monday. It’s tiny, (compared to Tolworth, or Buckingham Palace Road - my childhool library) but it has an electronic system for returning/borrowing books. You place them in a cavity and they are scanned. I had many LARGE books, and they wouldn’t all fit in, so had to do it in two stages. I had some ICT manual type books, two poetry books, and two detective books for John. Not that we haven’t MANY MANY books at home. We will be dead before we are able to read them all.
Anyway, here goes at trying to upload my TMA story - The Making of Molly.

Oh, Fiona is the one only just in - not John. Wish I’d taken more now.

Well, we’ve had a really lovely few days.
Monday.
Ali and family arrived and we chilled.
Tuesday.
We chilled again I think. Playing card games with kids? Can’t remember.
New Year’s Eve.
Went to York Designer Outlet where kids spent some Christmas money and we had lunch at Pizza Express.
On the way home Ali and I went into Tescos to stock up.(Yes, unbelievable)
Actually saw in the New Year! Nice fireworks over village. Rubbish TV though.
New Year’s Day
M and F arrived. (They had gone home after Christmas as they had a funeral and a party to go to) More fun and games. Vino flowing freely.
Friday
M and F took kids to pictures (Desperaux) while rest of us slept I think. Take Away Ruby in the evening, then M and F left. I’m so glad they came back so we were all together as a family. Only took one photo of all of us (using timer) so must upload it - even though it’s rubbish and John is only just in it.
Saturday
ALi et al left for Renfrew. Strangely quiet in the afternoon.
Today
Getting back to normal. Finished Part One of my TMA and just have to do 700 words discussing it. I’ve done a quick 600 words as a back bone, so will refine it this evening. It’s due in tomorrow.
Highlights of the week.
Food.
Ali’s drop scones rustled up for breakfast one day.
Her meringues.
My beef casserole.
But it wasn’t all food. Good games. The best was the one where you say a famous person’s name and the next player has to use the initial letter of the surname to say another famous person. Any doubles (William Wilberforce) and the play changes direction. Great fun.
And Charades was good too. And Articulate.
Oh well, just all the bed linen to wash now. Well, the washing’s easy. It’s the ironing that gets me.
Which brings me to New Year’s Resolutions. (because years ago I made a resolution never to iron bed clothes, and it was one of the best resolutions I have ever made. I only break it for guests’ sheets.)
Anyway, New Year’s Resolutions. Haven’t decided yet, as my will power has gone AWOL. However, I have had a 40 minute walk each day this year.
