Lovely mornin’

Blustery March morning at North Cave Wetlands. I’m attaching two photos. Then this afternoon I’m going to study, Slimming World this evening where I hope to confirm that I’ve lost 2lbs, and then maybe have fish and chips!

Pleased

Someone on the OU forum said I had ‘a way of writing that touches the heart.’ That was such a lovely thing to say (in fact it really touched my heart!) but I can’t see it myelf. It’s definitely not on display in this blog! John always says I should write more. Can’t this morning - it’s Birding. Yippee!

Round as a round balloon. And high.

Yes, I’m back to my annoying self. Bouncy as Tigger. Or should that be Roo. Thought kangaroos bounced, not tigers. Anyway, church cleaning this morning, then I really HAVE to take some photos for Thursday’s project. ‘Last minute Lucy’ that’s me. Or ‘The Late Miss Cooney’ as Father Hadfield used to call me when I was a kid.

I’ll go to the tip with another three bags of garden rubbish, as it’s in the same direction as church.

A bit more rounded!

Well I moped around all day. Did an online Creative Writing tutorial, then the post came and it was the material for my new OU course - Digital Photography. It’s just a 10 pointer I thought I’d squeeze in. It didn’t excite me too much as it consisted of 3 DVDs. One was Photoshop Elements 6 which I have, one was the OU Forum application, which I have, and the third was the set of tutorials. I’ve watched most of them and they are really basic PS tutorials. Still, the course will make me take photos.

I was starving mid-afternoon so boiled up some fresh pasta and added mushrooms, and left over tuna from tuna mayo lunch time sarnie. Added too much cajun and it was really hot. We were meant to have prawn curry tonight, but I was too tired to cook, and not hungry, so we both had another sarnie. J had cheese/salad and I had cold pork.

Still too worn out to go to Viewfinders. It was a shame as they were getting in ‘The Saggy Bottom Boys’ (group) for portrait session. Should have been good, but I just had no energy.

It’s 9.45 now and we’re watching ‘Pretty Woman’ (again!) Will probably go to bed then. No Second Life today!

Feeling flat.

After a lovely day yesterday I’ve woken up all flat. Almost depressed but not quite. I intended to get up to get some dawn shots of East Yorkshire for Thursday’s photo project, but when I did the day was grey and blustery, so decided not to. House is tidyish, so don’t feel like housework. Writing this blog is a bit of an effort. Don’t know why I’m doing it. Everything seems a bit pointless. Definitely no  gardening today, and maybe no cycling. It’s really ‘orrible out.

I’ve started reading ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ by Phillipa Gregory, but am not ino it enough to want to get it out. In fact, all I want to do is curl up on the settee and channel hop on telly. And it’s only 9.20am. Oh well. I’ll do that and see if it helps. I’ll report back.

My World/My Wordle

A picture’s worth a thousand words, so here is my World/Wordle. It’s not strictly accurate, as I haven’t been meditating much lately, but I really do have good intentions. I start the week really well, then get bogged down in other stuff.

And I’d like to record that we’ve been out cycling every day from last Sunday to Saturday. We gave it a miss today, but did lots of gardening. John power washed the patio and I collected up the prunings I did the other day and repotted a little Japanese Maple that Don and Chris gave us for our Ruby Wedding.

‘6 days a week’

We’ve been cycling since Sunday (No, not non-stop silly) and I’m really pleased. The most we’ve done is 3 miles, so it’s not exactly triathlon status, but it’s been good. Yesterday we only did 2 miles, but it was up on bridge over M62 and WAS IT STEEP! Yes it was! John said it’s the most out of breath he’s been since last being able to walk in 1961.

It’s a lovely spring day, but I was annoyed as I left my two fuschia pots outside last night and there was a frost. Hope they’re okay. So far I’ve sown sweet peas, runner beans, mange tout, courgettes and peppers. Hope they take. (Obviously)

Yesterday  I cut Front Lawn and Top Lawn as I like to call them. Today I might cut the Wild Flower Meadow and the Cherry Orchard. (The two bits of grass down the bottom of the garden. It’s actually one plum tree on the left bit, but cherry sounds more romantic to me.

Titiana has been writing in my SL blog, so she’s becoming quite an upstart. You might want to read it here -

Anyway, I mustn’t waste this beautiful day. Nearly 9.30 am. Been up since before 6am and done a lot, but so many lovely options ahead of me.Bye.

Latest non-news

If we go cycling today it’ll be the fourth day in a row. And we will, only the sun has gone in so it’s not such an attractive prospect.

Had a lovely morning yesterday at a new Birding site (new for us) It was cold but sunny and my eyes were stinging with the wind for ages after. Here are a couple of photos I took.

Guess what!

The best birds were the 17 ruffs we saw in the distance, and the most fun was getting stuck up to my ankle wellies in swamp. A few people managed to cross but others went round the edge of the field, and I had to opt out (gloop myself out) and join the wimps.

I’m really sleepy now after my Digital Photography course and shopping in Morrisons. It’s nearly 2pm so time enough to go out for a cycle. Ina way I wish John would forget, but I know I’ll feel better after it. I’ve only maintained weight at Slimming World for the last two weeks, so really must do something about it as if it’s not an incentive to lose weight I’m wasting my money.

Gardening

I did another Wordle about gardening. And in a minute I’m gonna get off my backside and go out and do some. No, really, I am!

Success!

After no internet access on my main computer since the storm last summer when John was in hospital I really fiddled around today - and got it back. I kept installing and uninstalling the netgear gadget, and trying to update the drivers, and at last I discovered there were no drivers installed. Once I had done that I got the little light that meant I was on the net. Success!

I was pleased that J and I went cycling today and yesterday. To the ‘end’ of the canal is exactly one mile, so we did two miles today (less yesterday) We must do more manana.

Pleasant evening at photo club photgraphing spring flowers. Here is one of mine, showing pulmonaria and ivy. I’ve probably gone too far with the saturation!
